The Wyoming 1 Goldback introduces Reverentia, the embodiment of reverence and deep respect. At its heart stands a Shoshone woman on the wide-open plains of northeastern Wyoming, her hair flowing freely in the wind—a symbol of liberty intertwined with spiritual mindfulness.

Perched on her arm is a bald eagle wearing falconry gear, a sacred messenger reminding viewers that true freedom is inseparable from honoring the divine. Around her, sunflowers bloom, their faces turned toward light, representing growth, beauty, and the conscious choice to revere life’s gifts. Seven ladybugs on the flowers nod to the legend of seven girls saved by divine intervention at Mato Tipila (Devil’s Tower), who were transformed into the Pleiades constellation.

In the distance, the towering Mato Tipila anchors the landscape, a sacred site carrying generations of story and spiritual significance. On either side of Reverentia, two **bison—a living animal and a skull—**reflect the cycle of life and death, honoring Wyoming’s heritage and the enduring legacy of the Shoshone and Arapaho peoples.
