Goldbacks sold by DefyTheGrid are brand new and sourced directly from the mint or mint-sealed inventory.
Because of the way Goldbacks are manufactured, handled, packaged, and shipped, minor cosmetic imperfections may be present even on brand new notes. The most common examples are light micro-scratches or small surface marks. These are normal and can occur during the minting, handling, or packaging process.
Customers should still expect their Goldbacks to be crisp, clean, and free from major damage. Brand new Goldbacks should not arrive with bends, folds, tears, heavily worn corners, or other signs of circulation.
Minor surface marks or micro-scratches do not affect the gold content, authenticity, or usability of the note. We do our best to ship Goldbacks in excellent condition, but “brand new” does not necessarily mean flawless or collectible-grade perfect unless the item is specifically listed as graded, certified, or otherwise described that way. This is also common with other newly minted products, including gold and silver coins, rounds, bars, and paper currency, where minor cosmetic imperfections may be present even when the item is new.
