Description
The “Come and Take It” cannon is one of the most famous symbols of Texas independence. In 1835, settlers at Gonzales refused to return a small cannon to Mexican authorities, raising a flag that boldly declared “COME AND TAKE IT.” The resulting Battle of Gonzales became the opening clash of the Texas Revolution.
The Texas 1 Redback pays tribute to that history while containing one centigram — 0.01 gram — of pure 24K gold. It’s a small, affordable piece of gold wrapped in unmistakably Texas history and symbolism.
